Studio Space

I'm working on a presentation and collection of illustrations at the moment which I can't blog until the end of the month. I've also been continually thinking about my studio space, as we gear up to decorate the house and landscape garden into the summer and next year. I'd love a separate studio space to the house but that's more of a dream at the moment. Here's some decor I've been looking at from www.housetohome.com though a big table is a must for me, as I'm a messy worker ; )

Scrapbook Saturday

I can't believe it's Sat again, the weeks are flying. I'm up the wall at the moment prepping for the up and coming shows, so haven't been blogging my stuff as such. Here's another peek of my scrapbook, showing other illustrators and designers work which I think is inspirational and rather great :)

Buttercup China Competition

I'm up to my eyeballs in work at the moment but just thought I'd get a tiny trumpet out to say I've made it to the final 10 of the Buttercup China competition! I'm delighted :) Here's some of their gorgeous mugs.

Scrapbook Saturdays

I like to look around at inspirational things and places if I possibly can at the weekend, usually a Sat. Sometimes it's just flicking through old magazines and the web at some of the gorgeous designs and illustrations out there. I like to scrapbook, whether on my mac or in my scrapbooks in the studio. I don't tend to mood board as I like seeing mismatching designs next to each other, as that can be pretty inspiring. I'll publish some of my scrapbook pages each Saturday, hopefully you'll enjoy them as much as I do :)

Armstrong Ward in Kendal

I'm totally smitten with Armstrong Ward in Kendal, after popping in today to get a Christening gift. It's a gorgeous shop full of design goodies from kids toys, clothes to homewares, art and furniture. It's even got a cafe downstairs complete with gigantic cakes :) If you're up near the Lakes and Kendal it's worth a mooch.

Australian talent featured on Paperrunway

I'm totally taken with Australian talent at the moment. It's a country I haven't visited, as my major pull on the itchy toes front was New York, San Francisco and Canada, and the cash ran out after that ; ) Featured are the talented illustrators Erin Petson and Paula Mills. Check out their websites for some major design heaven ;) Inspirational stuff x

Old wrap designs

I'm doing a bit of early spring cleaning at the moment, both house and system, and have come across these old wrap designs I did a few years ago. I really do need to do some more pattern pronto!

Herdy!

I've come across Herdy products here in the Lakes before but never realised the lovely story behind the brand until recently, when I had a mooch at the Herdy facebook page. Check out their bright contemporary products and the companies story on www.herdy.co.uk. I loved the 'Farming the Fells' section. It's amazing how many great businesses are on your doorstep :)

Greetings Designs

I'm still working on my vintage inspired pastel collection, but thought I'd break up my blog with some bright and simple greetings designs I did a few months ago. The designs make use of flitter and foil and are pretty simple really.
